Legendary Gianluigi Buffon to hang his gloves at the end of the season
Legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has decided to retire from professional football.
Buffon is known for his reflexes and awareness in the goal post. He is also considered as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time.
Gianluigi Buffon started his goalkeeping career at Palma in 1994 before joining Juventus in 2001.
The legendary Italian shot-stopper spent 18 years at Juventus, keeping the poles 468 times for the old ladies of Italian football.
He later left the Italian side to join French giants Paris Saint Germain in search of a Uefa Champions League trophy.
Buffon, 45 years old, was playing for Parma last season after he left Juventus as a free agent in 2021.
One of the best goalkeepers in history of the game will now retire.
