Last weekend represented, yet again, a memorable period in the annals of the Tertiary Education Confederacy of the New Patriotic Party (TESCON) as it held the mammoth Ashanti Regional version of the TESCON Conference 2022.
As the land of birth for TESCON, KNUST hosted the massive Ashanti Regional Conference in grand Style. The theme of the conference, “Holding Together, Working Together, and Building Capacity to Break the Eight,” was reflective and represented the very core of every speech that was delivered at the conference.
The purpose of the conference was to train, educate, revitalize and reposition TESCON as an effective tool for breaking the Eight by the New Patriotic Party. Purposefully delivering messages of hope and inspiration to the intellectual group of the Party at the Conference were the Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Samira Bawumia, the General Secretary of the NPP, Lawyer Justine Frimpong Kodua, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP. Hon. Antwi Bosiako (Chairman Wontumi), the Honorable Minister for Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Deputy Minister for Finance, Hon. John Kumah amongst other speakers.
In attendance also were Henry Nana Boakye (National Organizer, NPP), Salam Mustapha (National Youth Organizer), Dr. Kingsley Agyemang (Registrar, Ghana Scholarship Secretariat), and Hon. Ekow Vincent Assafuah (MP, Old Tafo Constituency) amongst other Party bigwigs. I was privileged to contribute my quota as an astute member of TESCON to work extra hard to cross the finishing line as the climax of the 3-day mammoth conference beckoned last Sunday at the Faculty of Law, KNUST.
After the Conference, I was greatly inspired and motivated that breaking the eight is possible given the necessary support and retooling of TESCON.
TESCON did it in the Year 2000, TESCON did it again in 2016 and TESCON shall surely deliver Victory again in 2024. We shall continue the great legacies of our forbearers. Congratulations to the Ashanti Regional Youth Wing, led by Hon. Sarfo Raph Patrick and his abled Team for holding such a momentous conference. Commitment, Without Inducement!
