Due to their varied roles in the murder of Nana Yaw, also known as Wyllbee, the Akropong District Court refused bail to Nana Yaa and a few other individuals this morning.
Wyllbee, a musician from Sowutouwm, was mistaken for a robber and was beaten to death a few weeks ago in Tanoso, in the Ashanti Region.
It was previously reported that he had allegedly gone to the home of Nana Yaa, who some believe to be his lover, without realizing that she was already married and that the house was her marital residence.
When Nana Yaw was apprehended and misidentified as a criminal, it is reported that his purported girlfriend denied ever knowing him. He allegedly pointed to her and said he had come to see her.
Many people demanded that the aforementioned girlfriend Nana Yaa be arrested when the matter was made public. She was taken into police custody and placed on remand.
She appeared in court today, and the judge once more denied her bail, remanding her into the custody of the police.
It was disclosed in court that an additional individual recognized as Boampong had been taken into custody in relation to the matter.
According to our sources inside the court, the accused people’s attorney attempted to get them released on bond, but the judge hearing the case turned down the attorney’s plea.
The judge after failing to grant the accused persons bail remanded them into police custody for another two weeks.
