Ghanaian broadcast journalist and women’s rights activist Afua Asantewaa Aduonum gets ready to attempt the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon solo.
On December 6, 2023, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum announced her plan to attempt the longest singing marathon.
In a short video that was uploaded to her official Facebook page, she announced that she was ready to accept the challenge.

Afua Asantewaa Aduonum must sing more than 3,200 songs from Ghana in 117 hours, according to the challenge guidelines, as the previous record was set in 2012 and stands at 105 hours.
She can only repeat a song after the fourth hour, and each song she performs cannot go longer than two minutes.

The Ghana Tourism Authority has officially confirmed and agreed to host the Guinness World Records Record Attempt- Longest Singing Marathon Individual at the AKWAABA VILLAGE located at Airport, Accra.
