Gertrude Ngoma is a 26 years old nurse in the Mushili region of Ndola, she has been in the news for some days now after she dragged her partner to court for refusing to marry her after eight (8) years of relationship.
The partner we are talking about is a teacher, and his crime is the refusal to marry the nurse after they have been together for eight years.
Gertrude Ngoma, the nurse, decided to send the matter before Kabushi Local Court accusing Herbert Salaliki, 28, of refusing to marry her despite promising to do so.
“He has wasted my time. I have turned down many marriage proposals from more than 10 men in respect of him but he is now refusing to marry me,”
she told the court.
The Nurse then made another complaint that she is having a child with Salaliki though she is still living with her parents instead of joining her husband.
She made it known to the court that the two had never stayed together despite dowry being paid.
“Your honour, he has never been serious that is why I brought him to court because I deserve to know the way forward and my future with him. Every time we meet he demands sex of which I give him but has no interest in marrying me,”
Ms Ngoma told the court while shedding tears.
