
Kuami Eugene wins ‘Best Highlife Artiste’ for the 4th time

Kuami Eugene is the current holder of VGMA’s Artist of the year award. with his nomination at this year’s VGMA, Eugene is expected to win most of the awards he is nominated for.

Kuami Eugene has made a new record by winning the ‘Best Highlife Artiste’ award at the 22nd Edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs). He is now the only artist to win this category for four years in a roll.
This year’s VGMA was held at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Center (AICC) on Saturday, June 26th, 2021.
Who Is Kuami Eugene?
Born on February 1, 1997, Eugene Kwame Marfo, better known by his stage name Kuami Eugene, is a Ghanaian singer-songwriter and record producer who specializes in Afrobeat and high-life music.

His songs include “Angela,” “Wish Me Well,” “Ohemaa,” “Wa Ye Wie,” and many more. He is contracted to Lynx Entertainment and Empire Distribution. He was the recipient of the Ghana Music categories UK’s New Artist and Unsung categories in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Additionally, he was given the AFRIMA/LYNXGHANA Most Promising Artist in Africa award.
In 2019, Kwame Eugene received 7 nominations at the Ghana Music Awards and went on to win the awards for Album of the Year, Producer of the Year, and Highlife Artist of the Year. He was crowned Artist of the Year and High-life Artist of the Year at the 2020 Ghana Music Awards.
