Following the release of a video on social media showing Ghanaian singer Kofi Kinaata losing it during a performance, the musician became extremely popular.
On Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Nkroful in the Western Region, Kofi Kinaata was one of several well-known Ghanaian musicians, including the leader of BHIM Nation Stonebwoy, who graced the stage for Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s 115th birthday celebration.
The musician and a few members of his team were engaged in a serious accident at Aboadze, close to Takoradi in the Western Region, a few hours prior to his performance at the event. The accident resulted in the hospitalization of more victims and damage to their automobile.
In honor of Ghana’s founding father, Kofi Kinaata took the stage at the Nkroful celebration. He later provided an update on his health. During his performance, the hitmaker of Effiakuma Broken Heart broke down in tears and had to stop.
He revealed that while he and his teammates survived the collision, several of the victims—who were on motorcycles—were in severe condition and in need of assistance and prayers.
When the victims were fighting for their lives in the hospital, Kofi Kinaata stated he thought it was disrespectful for him to leave the stage and continue performing and having fun with his followers.
