On September 23, 2024, two prominent Ghanaian media figures, Afia Pokua, and Mona Gucci, rushed to the Manhyia Palace to present their case following comments they had made disparaging the Asantehene.
The two, along with their accompanying crew, were sacked by the chiefs for multiple reasons after their unsatisfactory presence in the palace.
The fact that the women showed up without the head of Media General was one of the major factors that infuriated the chiefs and resulted in their firing.
The CEO was not present when Afia Pokua and Mona Gucci traveled to Manhyia with a few members of Media General’s upper management.
One of the chiefs remarked on the development and said that the CEO of Media General does not care about Otumfuo’s best interests and is not sorry about what happened.
