Jake Paul first gained notoriety for his viral videos on Vine, a website that is no longer in operation. Paul accumulated more than 5 million followers and more than 2 billion app views in the year just before the site went offline.
That notoriety led to Paul and his brother Logan starting a YouTube channel where they would post prank videos and other stuff for a primarily young audience.

He defeated Deji Olatunji via technical knockout in a white-collar boxing battle in August 2018 to start his boxing career. In January 2020, he made his professional boxing debut against AnEsonGib.
Later, he battled and defeated professional boxers Andre August and Ryan Bourland, former MMA fighters Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley (twice), Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz, as well as former basketball star Nate Robinson.
In February 2023, Paul’s first bout with a current professional boxer ended in a split-decision loss to Tommy Fury. Together with his advisor Nakisa Bidarian, Paul established “Most Valuable Promotions,” a boxing promotion, in 2021. He also co-founded Anti Fund, a startup financing firm, with Geoffrey Woo.
