UCL: Liverpool advances to the final of the 2021/2022 Uefa Champions League

Liverpool football club beats Villarreal 5:2 on aggregate to advance to this season’s Uefa Champions League final.

Liverpool becomes the first team to advance to the final of this season’s UCL final after eliminating Unai Emery’s Villarreal in the semi-finals.

Villarreal lost the first league by two goals to nill at Anfield, goals courtesy Henderson and Sadio Mane. Many concluded that the tie is over for Villarreal but Unai Emery’s side had something up their sleeves.

Villarreal went ahead in the second league just after 3 minutes after Gerard Moreno assisted Dia. Getting to the latter part of the game, Villarreal took a two goal lead after Etienne Capoue gave his second assist of the night by assisting Francis Coquelin.

Jurgen Klopp introduced Luis Diaz as Diogo Jota was subbed off. Fabinho netted in the 62nd minute to bring Liverpool back into the game. With the Reds having more control than before, Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross was met by a beautiful header from Luiz Diz.

With few minutes left to play, Sadio Mane put the icing on the cake by dribbling past Rulli to finish beautifully from Naby Keita’s pass.

The reds now await the winner from the Real Madrid vs Manchester City encounter tomorrow.
