Three persons detained by police for possessing and selling human parts

Police with Intelligence have detained persons who were suspected to trade in human parts.

The police in Abuakwa, the Ashanti Regional capital of Kumasi have arrested three individuals possessing human body parts who allegedly sell them.

According to a police statement, the main suspect, Kwaku Agyapong who is 65 years allegedly trades the body parts for $30,000.

How the police were able to arrest them

Using intelligence, the police detectives pretended to be interested in their services and arranged to meet the suspects at Abuakwa Manhyia in Kumasi to have the human body parts delivered.

Kwaku Agyapong, who seemed suspicious, dispatched two accomplices to the spot, who were apprehended by police on June 10, 2021, and the human remains were collected as evidence, according to the police. The police later identified Anane Kofi Konye and Isaac Adota who are 48 and 25 years respectively.

“Policemen were then dispatched in the night with suspect Anane Kofi Konye to Adamsu, where suspect Kwaku Agyapong was apprehended and taken to Abuakwa, where he was held alongside the two other suspects.”

The statement issued stated, “The exhibits, including the two human skeletal sections, are retained for evidentiary purposes.

The three adult males have been held in order to help police with their investigations.

The police stated, “They will be arraigned in court following investigations for prosecution.”
