Barcelona have stormed into the quarter-finals of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League in emphatic fashion. The Catalan giants dismantled Benfica with back-to-back victories showing their dominance over both legs. They left Benfica with no chance, proving to the Europe and the world they are serious contenders for this season’s title.
The first league took place on 5th March 2025 at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon where Hansi Flick lined up Kounde, Cubarsi, Martinez, Balde, Pedri, de Jong, Olmo, Yamal, Lewandowski and Raphinha against Benfica’s Trubin, Araujo, Silva, Otamendi, Carreras, Aursnes, Barreiro, Kokcu, Akturkoglu, Pavlidis and Schjederup. Raphinha’s 61st hit into the bottom right corner of the goal gave his team an important win while Pau Cubarsi’s red card in the 22nd minutes was not enough for Benfica to pick up a point.

Going into the second leg with a one-goal advantage, Barcelona secured a 3-1 victory over Benfica at the Estadi OlÃmpic LluÃs Companys. Raphinha scored twice, while Lamine Yamal found the net and provided the assist for Raphinha’s first goal.
Barcelona advance to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals with a 4-1 aggregate victory, powered by a stunning performance from Raphinha and a goal from Lamine Yamal.
