An enraged mob assassinated Lucky, a notorious phone snatcher, in the Iyara community of Warri, Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State.
The phone snatcher was apprehended as he attacked a young girl at the popular Akara Junction in the area. He was said to be a member of a gang of hoodlums who specialized in robbing their victims of valuables.
According to sources, Lucky stabbed the young girl several times in one of her arms in his desperation to forcefully remove her phone, but despite the injuries, the girl refused to let go of her phone.
Fortunately for the girl, some male residents of the area rushed to her aid and overpowered and stabbed Lucky several times.
Lucky, on the other hand, is said to have fled the scene with multiple injuries, racing towards the nearby Iyara Roundabout along Cemetery Road, where he died from blood loss.
When contacted, DSP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident.
