Big Brother 2023 housemates have at last been made public. On the evening of October 8, “The Ultimate Social Experiment” debuted its long-awaited and much-anticipated revival, introducing a fresh group of cast members to the public.
As they prepared to fight for a £100,000 cash prize in front of an audience, sixteen housemates entered the brand-new Big Brother house and were welcomed by presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best.
The iconic Big Brother house will play host to all the action – clever tasks, nail-biting nominations and live evictions will be back. The public once again plays a crucial role, voting throughout the series and ultimately determining the winner.
Big Brother 2023 Housemates
Jenkin:
Jenkin, 25, is a barman from Bridgend – and he “loves a bit of a goss.”
He applied to the show because he was “bored” and said his family would describe him as “loud and messy and irritating probably.”
Farida
Farida, 50, is a make-up artist from Wolverhampton, who wants to make it known that “with age comes wisdom.”
When asked what she’s looking forward to on the season, she said: “I’m just going to embrace it. I believe in living for the moment and I want to remember that I’m one of thousands of applicants who made it inside the house.”
Tom
Tom, 21, is a butcher from Somerset.
The third housemate to be revealed said that he thinks he might be nominated for eviction because he “might potentially offend some people.” He added: “My mouth moves faster than my brain.”
Hallie
Hallie, 18, is a youth worker from South London – and a self described “raging b*tch on wheels at times.”
When asked what she thought the housemates would think of her, she said: “I’m a bit of a diva and I speak my mind but I’m also a very lovely person. I’m a girl’s girl, for sure. I’m honest, fun and, yeah, just brilliant.”
Trish
Trish, 33, is a single mum from Luton – and she wants viewers to know she “hates the Tories.”
Trish, who came to the UK aged nine, applied for the season because she wanted to “humanise refugees and immigrants, especially in this political climate.”
Yinrun
Yinrun, 25, is a customer support agent from Harrogate – and is originally from Shanghai, China.
If she were to win the show, Yinrun said that she wants to move to a farm, grow organic vegetables and have a puppy.
Jordan
Jordan, 25, is a lawyer from Scunthorpe – and he’s “terribly nervous” about entering a house that might be full of “nutters.”
Jordan said, when asked what he was likely to be nominated for, said: “Being cantankerous and acting as if I don’t want to be there even if I do in my heart. They might nominate me for being disengaged perhaps or not paying everyone an equal amount of attention.”
Zak
Zak, 28, is a model from Manchester.
“People often have a misconception but I’m a council estate boy,” he said. “I’m not like a typical model, I’m a down to earth guy. People assume I’m arrogant but when they actually get to know me I’ve got a lot more to offer.”
Chanelle
Chanelle, 29, is a dental therapist from Llanelli – and she says what she’ll miss most is the pub
A fact that surprises people about her, she said, is her first class honours degree: “Often people will judge me by my blonde hair and are surprised. I’m quite book smart but I have no common sense.”
Dylan
Dylan, 39, is a DJ from Coventry.
Speaking about what he’s looking forward to in the house, Dylan said that he enjoys “having new hurdles to jump as an amputee.” He added: “It’s going to be an interesting journey to see if I can do whatever we’re asked.”
Noky
Noky, 26, is a banker from Derby – and she was also crowned Miss Universe Great Britain, 2022.
“I’m definitely looking forward to the tasks, I am so competitive,” Noky teased. “Anything that I can get my competitive spirit out with, that’s my cup of tea… I know that there’ll definitely be people that I don’t get on with but that’s part of the fun of it as well!
Matty
Matty, 24, is a doctor from the Isle of Man.
“I remember watching Big Brother and I could see myself in all these characters from a cross section of society, and I thought like, oh, maybe I would fit in there,” he said on why he wanted to apply.
Paul
Paul, 23, is a security officer from Liverpool.
When asked how his friends and family would describe him, he said: “Extroverted to say the least. A bit nuts but also the agony aunt, like I’ll sit and speak with them but I’ll also take the piss out of them.”
Henry
Henry, 25, is a food writer from the Cotswolds – and said that the person he’d most want to go for a cocktail with is Boris Johnson.
Although Henry would describe himself as “sociable and very chatty,” he also added: “My parents would definitely say I’m a bit of a snob but I take it as a compliment. I think it means you’ve got high standards and good taste. They’d say I was quite a peculiar child.”
Olivia
Olivia, 23, is a dancer from Glasgow who doesn’t like “people pleasers, boring people and smelly people.”
She’s looking forward to “the fact that it’s gonna be like being in a completely alternate universe. It’s a totally surreal experience.”
Kerry
Kerry, 40, is an NHS manager from Essex.
She revealed that the reason she didn’t apply for the series before its reboot was her multiple sclerosis diagnosis: “I always saw those whacking great big stairs to get into the house. It just felt a little bit unachievable…When I saw it was coming back and searching for real people from all walks of life, I thought, this is my year.”
