John Dramani Mahama, Ghana’s former president and presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has committed to secure the recovery of all state funds stolen by the current government, led by His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo.
On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, the former president’s journey entered its third day in the Eastern Region, with a stop at the Effiduase Chief’s Palace, he asserted that he would ensure the recovery of misused state funds. He launched his campaign in the Eastern region at the Nsawam Lorry Station in the Nsawam Adoagyiri constituency, where he plans to interact with locals and present the NDC’s 24-hour economic strategy.
He stated, “I assure you that when we come to power, and the NDC is coming back, we will go after all those who have stolen money belonging to the government and return it to the people,”
Mahama went on to discuss the economic hardships and embarrassment the current government has caused Ghanaians through excessive borrowing and poor public fund management.
