Kiely Rodni Toxicology Report Reveals Teen’s Drowning
Kiely Rodni Toxicology Report released by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office indicates that the death of Truckee teen Kiely Rodni was not a suicide. In fact, the toxicology report shows that the teen drowned. Rodni was last seen alive on Aug. 6 after a night out in Truckee. Her body was later found in Prosser Creek Reservoir.
Kiely Rodni’s death has been ruled an accident
Rodni was found dead on Aug. 21, just a few days after disappearing from the Prosser Family Campground. Her body was discovered by a dive group called Adventures with Purpose. The sheriff’s office later confirmed that the body was Rodni’s. Her family and friends thanked the community for its support during the search. They held a public memorial service on Aug. 21 to honor the young woman’s life.
According to the toxicology report, Kiely Rodni’s death was not a result of foul play. Her body was found in an SUV that was submerged in the Prosser Creek Reservoir. Her body was ruled to have drowned in the lake. Her death has prompted national attention.
Although her death is ruled an accident, authorities are still investigating the incident. It was unclear how Rodni ended up in the water. She was last seen speaking with a friend at 12:36 a.m. before she drove off in a silver Honda CRV. The vehicle’s cell phone last pinged near the campground. Her phone was disconnected after that time, however.
Autopsy may never reveal cause of death
An autopsy report may not reveal what killed Kiely Rodni, a 15-year-old California woman. Police are awaiting toxicology results from the autopsy. It may take up to two weeks, and the results will not be released to the public. In the meantime, there are many questions.
Authorities have ruled the death of Nevada County teen Kiely Rodni as accidental, but the pathologist’s report says a death by drowning was the cause. The death sparked national attention after the teen was found dead in a lake near her family’s campground in Truckee. The teen had recently attended a graduation party near the lake, so it was likely that she was drinking when she drowned.
After the body was found Sunday in Prosser Creek Reservoir, police waited to find a cause of death. They were nearly certain the body was Kiely’s but the autopsy was being conducted to be sure. Police said they are in contact with the Rodni family and are awaiting the results.
