Manchester United agree deal with Bologna for Joshua Zirkzee
Manchester United have reached full agreement to sign striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna, and will pay slightly over his £34m release clause with payment spread over three years
The Red Devils have been in the hunt for a striker since the end of the season. After numerous links, they seem to be on the verge of getting the player they deem fit for Erik ten Hag’s system of play.
Joshua Zirkzee who developed through the Bayern Munich Academy was one of the main men for Bologna on their historic run in the Italian Serie A.
Zirkzee found the back of the net 11 times in 34 league appearances for Bologna. He also provided 4 assists in the just ended Serie A campaign. It is believed that Zirkzee will not only provide backup to Rasmus Hojlund in the striker position, but he is also viewed as a versatile player who can play across the forward line.
Bayern Munich will receive 50% of Joshua Zirkzee deal from Bologna, almost 21m euros after agreement with Man United reached. Hasan Salihamidzic negotiated that sell-on clause worth 50% of future sale when he sold Zirkzee to Bologna.
Manchester United also have their eyes set on signing Bayern Munich and Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt before the start of the season.
