Hon. Mustapha Ussif optimistic of Ghana’s chances of qualifying for AFCON 2025
Ghana’s minister for sports Hon. Mustapha Ussif believes that the Black Stars of Ghana are good enough to top their 2025 AFCON qualifying group to secure qualifications.
Ghana has been drawn in Group F along with Niger, Angola and Sudan with many believing that Sudan led by former Black Stars coach Akwesi Appiah will the greatest threat to Ghana’s qualification.
Reacting to the draw, Ghana’s sports minister highlighted on the increasing competitiveness in International football and also touched on how smaller teams are gradually taking over.
“Now there is no small team in the world, look at what’s going on in the Euro 2024. You know that even the smaller countries are doing so well so the only thing I have confidence in is our technical team led by coach Otto Addo,” he told Peace FM.
“Otto Addo knows most of these countries Angola, Niger, and Sudan are all good football nations. I have so much confidence that we will top the group.”
