Andre Ayew and some of the young players were brainwashed against me – Asamoah Gyan claims
Speaking on his IG live on Thursday, 2nd January 2024, Ghanaian football icon Asamoah Gyan got all emotional as he spoke about some troubling and touching issues.
Asamoah Gyan compared his life to Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale, making references to the fact that they both have a lot in common. Gyan went ahead to talk about reasons Shatta Wale pays homage to some of the senior colleagues in the industry and also go around and insult them when they speak ill of him.

With emotions running high, Asamoah Gyan spoke about the supposed rivalry between him and Dede Ayew as he stated that Andre Ayew has genuine love for him and there is no rift between them. Gyan on the other hand believes that some people behind the scenes are rather brainwashing Andre Ayew against him.

Speaking on his penalty miss against Uruguay in the 2010 world cup, Gyan with tears in his eyes called his teammates “cowards” as they enjoyed it when Ghanaians were coming for his neck. Gyan in his speech made it known that he has nothing against the fans who were criticizing him for the miss but rather, he expected his teammates to come out and defend him since they all knew he was the first penalty taker for the team.
Baby Jet went on to talk about what he went through as the captain of the Black Stars. Speaking on this matter Gyan stated that most of the young players that came joined the Black Stars camp were “brainwashed” against him. He backed his claims by making references to the fact that most of them came to the camp all happy after seeing him since he was the face of the team and most of the boys dreamt of playing we with him. He also said the same boys after a few days of being at the camp start behaving disrespectfully against him.
