#AHOFEST ’22: Anaji to commence its yearly festival dubbed AHOFEST.

Anaji is a suburb of Takoradi in the Kwesimintsim Constituency in the Western Region of Ghana. The leaders of the community are marked up to prepare the path to this year’s edition of their annual festival.

The festival is celebrated to unite all and sundry of the Anaji Community. This year’s edition will focus on a project which was launched at the maiden edition in 2019.

AHOFEST is an abbreviated word which explains, Anaji Homecoming Festival. A lot of plans have gone into this year’s edition. The aim of this year’s version is to raise funds to build an Ultra – Modern Community Centre which will house a library, computer learning centre, a big hall to host events and others.

The festival will see some highly profile personalities coming through to grace the event where the Chief of the town in the person of Nana Ekra Kojo IV to sit and welcome them duly.

All businessmen and women who are operating their business on the Anaji Land is subjected to contributing some money to support the project of the community.

Our News team went around to have an interaction with the inhabitants of the community and this is what some of them said; I think it is a nice approach for the Chief and His Elder to think about the welfare of the sons and daughters in the community, Mark said.

Since there is no venue to host our events and even a place to support our children to learn, I will commend the board for such a move, Johnny K Amani told our news team.

Some are of the view that, there should be a mega concert to bring artistes like Kofi Kinaata, Shatta Wale, Black Sherrif and the likes. They think that, when such concert is held, it will market the community to the rest of the world.

Below is the planned programme for the festival:

1. Clean-Up Exercise – 13th August, 2022 at 6:00am – 11:00am

2. Health Walk and Screening – 20th August, 2022 at 5:30am – 10:0am

3. Candle Light Possession – 20th August, 2022 at 5:00pm – 8:30pm

4. Fund Raising Durbar – 23rd August, 2022 at 9:00am-2:00pm
