Why Was Meghan Markle Not Allowed To Pay Her Respect To The Dying Queen Elizabeth?

The world was startled to hear of Queen Elizabeth II’s death on September 8, 2022. She died at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle. The Queen’s children had accompanied her as she was transported under medical care.

Prince William, the new heir apparent, and his brother, Prince Harry, were also present at Balmoral. But where were their wives, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle?

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, wasn’t really present at Balmoral. She had to stay behind to care for her three children, who attend Lambrook School.

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s wife, was not invited to join the royal family at Balmoral Castle. She was in London on Thursday when Queen Elizabeth II died, according to ET. Here’s why Meghan wasn’t invited to the Balmoral Castle.

Meghan Markle Didn’t Accompany Prince Harry To Balmoral

Katie Nicholl, a royal specialist, commented on the situation.

It’s understood that the family wanted Prince Harry to be there, even though he was unable to get to Balmoral in time to see his grandmother, but Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, was not, we understand, invited to join the family. She has said she will go to Balmoral another time, but I think it is quite significant that Prince Harry traveled to Balmoral on his own without his wife.

Tensions were so high and there was no way Meghan could have gone to Balmoral,” inside sources told Page Six. “The fact the Sussex camp did say both Harry and Meghan were going — and then quickly retracted that statement — will tell you everything you need to know about the drama behind the scenes.

According to certain sources, the plan for Meghan to accompany Harry to Scotland was canceled because King Charles III was not in favor of it. Some speculated that Meghan had remained back out of respect for Kate Middleton, who had also not attended the Queen’s visit to Balmoral.
