He played with the Ontario Blue Jays of the Ontario Premier Baseball League during his amateur career (PBLO). The best young baseball players in all of Ontario made up this elite travel team, which frequently participated in competitions around North America.

Naylor was chosen by the Miami Marlins with the 12th overall pick in the first round of the 2015 MLB draft.

After graduating from St. Joan of Arc on June 25, he signed with the Marlins for a reported signing bonus of $2.25 million, and for his major league debut, he was assigned to the Gulf Coast Marlins of the Gulf Coast League’s Rookie Division.

Naylor played for the Marlins in 25 games overall, batting.327 with one home run and 16 RBIs.

The South Atlantic League’s Class A Greensboro Grasshoppers is where Naylor started the 2016 campaign.

Padres of San Diego

On July 29, 2016, the Marlins dealt Tayron Guerrero, Andrew Cashner, Colin Rea, Jarred Cosart, and Luis Castillo to the San Diego Padres in exchange for cash.

The Class A-Advanced California League’s Lake Elsinore Storm received Naylor as their allocated player. Naylor batted.264 with 12 home runs and 75 runs batted in across 122 games for the Grasshoppers and Storm.

In July, the Padres moved him up to the Class AA Texas League’s San Antonio Missions.

On August 31, 2020, the Padres dealt Naylor to the Cleveland Indians in exchange for Mike Clevinger, Greg Allen, and Matt Waldron, as well as Austin Hedges, Cal Quantrill, and the minor leaguers Gabriel Arias, Owen Miller, and Joey Cantillo.

Naylor became the first player in MLB history to do it in the 2020 American League Wild Card Series by collecting five hits in his first five postseason plate appearances.

The Guardians selected Naylor’s contract on October 1, 2022, adding him to their roster. The following day, he made his major league debut against the Kansas City Royals by taking the place of a defensive starting.

Myles Naylor, a student at St. Joan of Arc who weighs 195 pounds and is 6-2, is from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. He has a big, athletic frame and has room to get even stronger.
