Erik ten Hag believes Matthijs de Ligt can still be a Man United player
Manchester United remain open to bring in one more centre back after Leny Yoro to help them compete for the Premiership next season. However, outgoings are needed in order for them to proceed with their plans of bringing in more players.
Matthijs de Ligt is still on the list of preferred defenders but Man United would only proceed at their conditions. Same for Jarred Branthwaite who is still highly regarded by the club but not for £70/75m.
Speaking on the potential signing of Matthijs de Ligt, Erik ten Hag said: “It remains to be seen whether Matthijs de Ligt will come… I know him well”.
“I wanted to sign him two years ago but at that time, he was already very far along to join Bayern”.
“Believe it or not, his name did not come from me in the process”, told AD.
