Rapper and cum trap musician Oseikrom Sikanii from Ghana has mocked the lyrical substance of certain gospel music in Ghana by calling it “cheap”!
He declared that local gospel songs are easy to compose compared to those who are into rap and trap music like himself.
According to Oseikrom Sikanii in the studios of Kessben TV in a chit-chat with Quoo Fante, rap and trap music contain all the elements of music like rhyme and bars which makes its composition difficult as compared to gospel music has no rhyme and bars.
As a reminder, Gospel music is a genre of Christian music that originated in the African-American communities in the United States.
It is characterized by its uplifting and soulful melodies, powerful vocal performances, and lyrics that express praise, worship, and faith in God.
The lyrics of Gospel songs focus on biblical themes, personal testimonies, and the message of salvation.
