Kwadwo Sheldon, who is a YouTuber and digital creator, is one of the many people in Accra whose homes were hit by the Sunday morning downpour.
Sheldon posted a series of videos on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, sharing pictures of his estate where roads, homes and personal belongings were under inches of water.
When he came back from Kwahu, he saw that his home was flooded and wrote, “Bro, the scenes I saw were crazy.”
The videos soon went viral, which led to a lot of people feeling sorry for them and sharing their own experiences with water damage from floods.
However, Sheldon went further than just making a social media post. Peter accused the estate’s management and developers, saying they did not build infrastructure strong enough to deal with the heavy rains. In his second post, he warned strongly about the issue.
“This is happening on the estate, and they will soon know what happens in court 🤝.”
Many people using social media expressed similar concerns about the increased number of floods in Accra and the inability of developers and city planners to predict them.
