Recently, a humorous exchange between a Ghanaian media outlet and television channel and a phony Baltasar Engonga profile went viral on social media.
GHOne TV was not happy with the handle’s comment on one of Ghana’s media idols, which purported to be Baltasar Engonga.
Former National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF) chief Engonga is incarcerated on theft and corruption charges.
The issue started when GHOne TV shared a video of artist and fashion sensation Elijah Birdman being interviewed by Serwaa Amihere, a Ghanaian media personality.
Among other topics, he discussed his music career and his $450,000 enormous gold chain with the boss of the so-called Ghana Dope Gang.
The fake Engonga account posted the following in the video’s comment area, which was already trending because of an unpleasant exchange between Amihere and Birdman: “Who is this woman. She looks nice 🤤”
After spotting the comment, the handler of the GHOne TV official Facebook account replied to the fake account parodying the former ANIF boss with a caution.
“Hey Hey Hey… Be careful😑😑😑”
The fake Baltasar Engonga account has been locked although the intro states he is ‘stronger than apartheid’ – referencing South Africa’s era of racial segregation.
