Before the U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt, fans from Ghana will center their discussions on a fresh development despite past discussions about goals and team success.

The U20 Black Satellites team of Ghana has officially included Michael Amer in its ranks since the billionaire businessman Ibrahim Mahama fathered him.

The tournament starts on April 27 and continues until May 18 during the Egyptian event. The Black Satellites play in a difficult Group C against Central African Republic, DR Congo, and Senegal.

The national selectors have taken notice of Michael’s outstanding skills at Nice Ibrahim Sporting Club in Tema because of his promising midfielder talent.

The combination of his creative skills and controlled ball handling together with his ability to create offensive plays convinced the technical team of Desmond Offei during the Accra Sports Stadium training camp.

Michael has decided to establish his football career through committed work rather than using his famous surname to gain advantages. Due to his father’s prosperous business empire, he gained luxury in life, but after turning 19 years old, he decided to pursue a football career instead of the corporate world because he is passionate about his dream.

As the No. 10 jersey bearer, Amer stands among rising football talents who secured their gold win at the 2023 African Games. The 2023 AFCON serves a dual purpose for teams because success in this tournament gives them automatic qualification to the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile that will take place during September.

REACTIONS

People have shown diverse reactions about placing Michael into the team. Many fans have applauded his independent approach but some spectators doubt if his participation is strictly because of his abilities. People on social media platforms quickly expressed their opinions about the matter.

A Twitter user commented about Michael through X (Twitter) that his face revealed his professional skill as a soccer player. The statement was followed by laughter as the person added, “Family and friends are behind him.” Ɛda mu 🤣🤣🤣.”

Still, others defended his selection explaining that people who witness his gameplay will confirm his ball skills are top-notch because “he ball ruff if you have seen him play before,” another added.

The spotlight is now on Michael Amer because he must demonstrate his ability to the soccer world through his performances.

As a matter of fact, Michael Amer will become an independent star beyond being simply the son of Ibrahim Mahama if he achieves success in his career.
