A former NSMQ participant who performed well in the 2021 contest has been busted among four students who have been arrested in the US
One of the four individuals detained in the US for fabricating high school transcripts is Evans Oppong, a former Prempeh College student.
Evans participated in the NSMQ competition that helped Prempeh College win in 2021.
The four allegedly falsified their senior high school credentials, exaggerating their marks, in order to continue their study overseas. They were Lehigh University students in Pennsylvania prior to their arrest.
Based on the allegedly falsified transcripts, the students received financial support totaling $212,933, $127,213, and $129,244, respectively. They are facing charges of forgery and theft of services and are currently being held on $100,000 bail.
