Otumfuo says he has a lot of respect for Fante women since they are excellent chefs.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, has praised Fante women for their exceptional culinary abilities and emphasized their reputation for culinary brilliance.
The respected monarch reminisced about his early years with fondness about his Fante aunt, Auntie Evelyn, whose foods were a mainstay of his upbringing, in a video posted by Opemsuo Radio.
“She was a fantastic cook,” Otumfuo noted, reminiscing about the meals she prepared for him, often packed for school.
He used a well-known Ashanti proverb to emphasize their culinary skills, “Get money and marry a Fante woman.”
The Asantehene’s comments have generated appreciation and discussion over the distinctive cultural contributions made by Fante women, especially in the field of cuisine.
