Former President of the Republic of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor, has officially endorsed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the current Vice President of Ghana, as the ideal candidate to succeed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Speaking with confidence about Dr. Bawumia’s leadership potential, Kufuor expressed his full support for the Vice President as he leads the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the December 7, 2024 elections.
In his endorsement, Mr. Kufuor highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s exceptional skills in economic management, citing his successful collaboration with the Bank of Ghana to stabilize the local currency during Kufuor’s presidency from 2000 to 2008. Kufuor emphasized that Bawumia’s proven track record and leadership experience make him the best candidate to continue the country’s progress and steer Ghana toward greater economic growth and stability.
He noted that, given the current global challenges, he strongly believes that Ghana’s economy will experience significant improvement if Dr. Bawumia is elected President.
