The startling armed military raid at the home of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has been clarified by recently made public CCTV footage.
On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, a group of armed men wearing military uniforms forcibly entered his home in the now-viral video.
A man who is thought to be Richard Jakpa is seen guiding the gathering in the video. As the armed men approach the house, he seems to be giving them directions. The men move quickly and precisely like soldiers, clad in military attire and carrying heavy weapons.

Their coordinated actions have sparked questions about whether they were carrying out a personal agenda or following directives from the government.
Ken Ofori-Atta was not home during the raid because he was in the United States for medical treatment. But his wife and other family members were there when it happened. In the video, the armed men can be seen crashing through the main gate and scaling the walls as they enter the compound.
Although the reason for the raid is yet unknown, indications indicate that it may have something to do with the continuing inquiries into the contentious Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) agreement. Due to suspected financial malfeasance, this deal, which included millions of dollars, has been under investigation.
Whether Richard Jakpa is the individual in the video or whether the operation was conducted on formal military instructions has not yet been verified by authorities.
Ghanaians are demanding answers from the police, military, and the Special Prosecutor’s office regarding who authorized the raid and the reasons for its aggressive execution.
