There has been another reported case of alleged kidnap in the Western Region.

The news of kidnap or kidnapping keeps coming from the western region of Ghana. Weeks after Joan (the woman who faked her kidnapping) was handed 6 years imprisonment, we have received another piece of information from one of our representatives in the Western Region that there is another alleged kidnapping case.
Stephanie Kumiwaa is the name of the alleged kidnap victim, she is 26 years of age. Her boyfriend, Stephen Kumi broke the news as he called Connect FM during the OMANBAPA morning show and told Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson who is the host that the last time he spoke with Stephanie was on Sunday, October 17.
According to the man, on that fateful day, Stephanie who stays at Mpohor told him she would be visiting him right after church and since then there is no sign of her whereabouts.
“I didn’t hear from her again after the long chat on phone, only for me to be called the next day by some guys using my girlfriend’s phone that they had kidnapped her and that I should pay GHS2,000 otherwise she would be raped and used for rituals,” Stephen to Paa Kwesi Simpson
According to him, after days of back and forth, he and a friend of the alleged victim, whose name has only been given as Sandra, contributed GHS1,000 and sent it to the guys through Stephanie’s phone, only for the alleged kidnappers to still demand another GHS2,000.
The case was then reported to the Mpohor Police and the Assemblymember of the town.
As of November 1, 2021, the whereabouts of Stephanie is yet to be known while the alleged kidnappers have not been heard from for over a week.
