Ama Burland, who happens to be a Ghanaian influencer, is gaining attention both on the internet and in her business.
After being criticized about why young women follow her, the entrepreneur and content creator shared the achievements of her hair product business, Diya Organics. Just in 3 months, the company made an incredible GH¢486,200 in revenue.
The response came after a video of Ama discussing her influence was uploaded by Sika Official. In the comment section, someone named Kaymelo criticized her as a role model.
“Is this the kind of person these girls want to be? I see,” the comment said.
Ama wasn’t about to ignore the criticism. She showed her dashboard which revealed a massive number of orders—around 2,000—from her website, apart from the cash and products sold by her distributors.
“I have put together this site overview of what’s happened in the last 90 days,” she mentioned.
“Distributor sales, buying in stores and major events are not included here. With these products, you can get all of this for between GH¢45 and GH¢80.”

She explained, “I don’t feel that strongly about being seen as an idol.” Still, it’s the tone that says there’s nothing to learn from me. It’s not possible for a girl to be serious about business and still be funny.
Former Rants Bants and Confessions cohost Ama Burland ended her response by putting a twist on things. She asked the critic, who is a beatmaker, what he has inspired his peers with.

Since she gave that bold answer, it has gone viral, and people from all over are praising her for it. Many people online have celebrated her for demonstrating that influencers can also build successful businesses.
According to one attendee, Ama Burland taught everyone about having confidence and being an entrepreneur. Those who hate can watch and take notes.
As her empire and supporters grow, it’s obvious: Ama Burland is an inspiration, not only an influencer.
