Ghanaians have been waiting on the court for their final ruling on the Kasoa Ritual murders’ case but the suspects have dropped some bombshells in court.
A 10-year-old Ishmel Mensah Abdullah was murdered painfully by some children in Kasoa who were allegedly tagged with performing money rituals or their aim was to use the 10 year old for money ritual. God being soo Good they were arrested and the case has been in court for some time now. Nicholas Kani is one of the guys who murdered the little boy and in this case he is the second accused, he was in court during the current sitting of the court and has made it clear that he was not present at the crime scene.
Kani’s latest allegation of not being part or not being present at the crime scene has raised so many questions and he has also said that he has a witness to back up his claim, what he did is called Alibi. An alibi is a defense to a criminal charge that claims the accused was somewhere other than the scene of the crime at the time the crime occurred.

This Kani we are talking about is just a 15-year-old juvenile (name withheld) who has been charged with Ishmael Mensah’s murder. On Wednesday, February 2, 2022, the court presided over by Her Ladyship Justice Lydia Osei Marfo made it clear that Kani has raised an alibi defense, which was then included in the Bill of Indictment.
Due to his claim, the court has then ordered him to file his notice of alibi for the prosecution to investigate within 21 days of today. The court also made it known that the prosecution should serve the accused with “anything of evidential value which they may or may not rely on at the trial.”
“This is to provide the accused persons with the opportunity, sufficient time, and facilities for their defense,” the court stated.
According to Justice Marfo, these disclosure documents should be completed on or before the next adjourned date. The case has been rescheduled for February 22, 2022.
