Ron DeSantis Is Really Getting Exactly What He Wanted

Since 2019, American politician Ron DeSantis has presided as Florida’s 46th governor.

Ron DeSantis served as the 6th District Representative for Florida in the US House of Representatives from 2013 to 2018 before being elected governor. DeSantis, who was born in Jacksonville, lived in Dunedin for the majority of his formative years.

Sen. Bob Menendez, a Democrat from New Jersey, commented on the action. “They lure people, like human traffickers lure people, onto buses and unknowing where they’re going to. They have no concern for — they supposedly are the advocates for human life. They have no concern for the lives of these people.”

Politically, DeSantis couldn’t have planned it any better.

The plain fact is that DeSantis only pulled off this Martha’s Vineyard stunt to draw attention to himself and his disapproval of the Biden administration’s border policies. To be honest, it was a stunt. And it’s not the first time he’s carried out such an action.

DeSantis‘ government allegedly “indoctrinated” children by rejecting 41% of math textbook proposals in the spring of 2022. DeSantis explained the action in a statement, saying that “certain publishers attempted to throw a coat of paint on an ancient home built on the basis of Common Core, and indoctrinating principles like race essentialism, especially, weirdly, for elementary school pupils.”

* At a press conference at the University of South Florida earlier this year, DeSantis scolded students for wearing masks while indoors. “You do not have to wear those masks,” he said. “I mean, please take them off. Honestly, it’s not doing anything. We’ve got to stop with this Covid theater. So if you want to wear it, fine, but this is ridiculous.”

DeSantis revoked Disney’s special self-governance status in Florida following the company’s criticism of the state’s passage of legislation that bans the discussion of gender and sexuality among young people in public schools. “You’re a corporation based in Burbank, California, and you’re going to marshal your economic might to attack the parents of my state,” said DeSantis. “We view that as a provocation, and we’re going to fight back against that.”

These incidents all made national news. The left was very critical of each of them. Additionally, the conservative right praised them all equally.

Which is exactly how the ploy involving Martha Vineyard has turned out. While Democrats attacked DeSantis, the right wing jumped to his defense. “Sending immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard was a wise move by DeSantis. Democrats need to be made aware of the border issue “op-ed on the Fox News website.
