Kofi Kingston Biography

Kofi Kingston biography is very interesting, and as we all know, he is a professional wrestler from Ghana. He is a member of ‘The New Day’ trio with Big E and Xavier Woods and is tied to WWE’s SmackDown brand.

With several championships to his name, ‘Pro Wrestling Illustrated’ (PWI) listed him as the 20th best wrestler of 2013. His hallmark skills are a double backhand chop, a flying forearm smash, and a somersault plancha.

He gave up his corporate career to contract with WWE after being a wrestling fan since boyhood. In the beginning of his career, he promoted himself as being from Jamaica rather than Ghana, believing that people would accept someone from the land of the famed singer-songwriter, Bob Marley.

He has since ditched the Jamaican tale and declared that he is from Ghana. His fans first rejected his group ‘New Day,’ but their debut on RAW quickly became a highlight of the show. In fact, ‘New Day’ became the WWE’s longest-reigning tag team champions.

Kofi Kingston Childhood & Early Life

Kofi Nahaje Sarkodie-Mensah was born in Kumasi, Ghana, on August 14, 1981, to Elizabeth and Kwasi Sarkodie-Mensah. His brother Kwame is deceased, and his sister Nana Akua died in 2015.

When he was a child, his family relocated to the United States. He went to ‘Winchester High School’ in Massachusetts. ‘Boston College’ awarded him a communication degree.

He had always wanted to wrestle since he was a child. So he quit his corporate job to pursue his desire.
