It has been reported in Nigeria that a widow has said her late husband’s body was brought to rest in their parlour, since he never got to live in the new home he had built.
A video posted by @mummygeraldine on TikTok showed the widow remembering how her husband had wanted to officially open their new house in May 2025. Sadly, he missed the celebration of his 70th birthday.
She recalled, with much feelings, “that you said we should be opening our house in May, yet in May you were found inside your parlour.” The tragic timing of everything has made everyone around the family and community very sad.
While the husband’s identity is not public, he died on March 30, a day the widow said she would always remember. May 7 was the day he was laid to rest, and she now remembers him on that date.
In addition, the widow said in a chilling way, “Oh my darling husband. Make sure you finish the job, since there is something fishy about how you died.“
Many people on social media have shown sympathy and offered condolences after hearing about her unusual burial.
Experts add that the events in this case make clear the emotional challenges of losing someone you love, especially when that loss also means giving up on dreams and letting go of a family home.
