Hayford Bioateng, better known as GH Kobby, a popular Ghanaian social media celebrity, has been arrested after he allegedly sh0t his girlfriend, Philipa Yaa Baby, also called Shuga, in what is being termed a tragic accident.
On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, the event occurred in the town of Seker, Yeji, in the Bono East Region. In a series of reports, GH Kobby had come into town with Philipa and two male friends, Kojo Emmanuel and Michael Kabutey, after a funeral ceremony.
The company had sat down to have a meal and rest when it took a lethal twist.
Witnesses claim GH Kobby ran to his expensive vehicle to fetch a gun, allegedly to create some warning shots. But in the act of loading the gun, the gun went off, and the bullet struck Philipa, in the left arm.
She was taken to St. Martin s Hospital but unfortunately, she died a few moments after her arrival.
GH Kobby and his two friends have since been arrested by authorities to help in the investigation that is ongoing. Police sources have revealed that a rifle was retrieved in the vehicle of GH Kobby.

An Assemblyman in the area addressing the media stated that the group was having drinks and food prior to the incident.
He narrated how he witnessed GH Kobby holding a gun and heard someone asking why he needed a gun in a place as peaceful as this. A short time afterward, there was a loud report of a gunshot.
The body of Philipa is now in the mortuary, and social media is awash with tributes and demands of justice. Devastated fans took to social media in shock and sorrow, with most wondering why he had to bring a gun in the first place.
With his flashy lifestyle and viral content, GH Kobby has become a controversial figure whose life is about to take a criminal turn and alter his life forever.
The police are still carrying out their investigations to ascertain whether the shooting was indeed accidental or there was more than that.
