Milovan Rajevac has been officially appointed as Black Stars Head Coach

Milovan Rajevac is now Black Stars coach as he has been reappointed after 11 years.

Milovan Rajevac is a 67-year-old Serbian and now the head coach of the Senior National Team of Ghana, his appointment was confirmed this Friday, September 24, 2021.

As we all know, this is the second time Milovan Rajevac has been appointed as the head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana. He was appointed in the year 2008 as the coach for Ghana Black Stars taking over the job from Claude Le Roy.

Milovan Rajevac is now the replacement for Charles Kwablan Akonnor who was recently fired after been with the Black Stars for only 18 months. C.K Akonnor was fired on September 14, 2021, and immediately a three-member committee was appointed to get another coach for the Senior National Team of Ghana with a number of names suggested.

The committee started their job and didn’t disappoint, they all settled on Milovan handed him a one-year deal with an option for a further year if he is able to qualify the Black Stars to the World Cup he will also earn $30K every month.

Milovan Rajevac was working with the Black Stars, but he left after a successful spell between the years 2007 and 2010. He was able to take us to a historic quarter-final in the 2010 World Cup in Brazil but Black Stars didn’t progress to the next stage.

Milovan is one of the coaches who has a history with the black Stars, during his tenure, the Senior National Team reached the final of the 2010 Nation’s cup. As it stands now, Rajevac will be assisted by Dortmund assistant coach Otto Addo and our very own Maxwell Konadu. Richard Kingson has been also reappointed as the new goalkeepers’ trainer.

Milovan led Black Stars in 28 games, he won 12, loses 11, and drawing 5 during his two-year stay in Ghana. Since the Serbian left the job in 2010, he has coached Saudi club Al-Ahli, Qatar, Algeria, and Thailand.
