Self-styled evangelist Nana Agradaa is facing a GHC20 million defamation lawsuit from Ghanaian gospel singer Empress Gifty Adorye, who claims she made damaging and wrong accusations online.
The lawsuit, which was submitted to the High Court in Tema on May 20, 2025, says that Patricia Asiedua, known as Nana Agradaa, has consistently made defamatory statements about Empress Gifty over Facebook Live and different social media platforms.
Hopeson Adorye, the husband of the gospel artist, has made court documents public, showing that the lawsuit seeks damages for damage to her reputation as a well-known gospel minister.
According to the complaint, Empress Gifty thinks that four separate, unprintable statements have caused serious harm to her reputation.
The law firm Osei Aidoh Akpokavie and Co., which is handling the case, is seeking the following from the court.
1. An ongoing order for Nana Agradaa or her crew not to make any more slanderous statements.

2. All defamatory videos and audios must be removed from all of Nana Agradaa’s social media accounts, according to the court order.
3. Expenses and damages were granted to Empress Gifty in accordance with the law.
After months of insults and accusations made by Nana Agradaa online, the case was filed. Empress Gifty is certain that these actions have negatively affected her career and emotionally and mentally affected her.
Because both women are famous in Ghana for their roles in entertainment and religion, the case is generating widespread interest. There is close interest in how the court will decide between a celebrity and a social media influencer.
Lawyers say this case could determine how the courts in Ghana approach online defamation since more people in the public eye are seeking justice for cyberbullying and ruined reputations.
