The relatives of the Ghanaian influencer GH Kobby, whose real name is Hayford Boateng, have paid a visit to the house of the late TikTok star Yaa Baby after the unfortunate accident that caused her early demise.
A delegation of elders, consisting of GH Kobby, presented a video online where they arrive at the family house of the deceased in the Ashanti Region to express their regrets and reconcile.
The emotional visit occurred days after GH Kobby was alleged to have accidentally shot Yaa Baby on a trip to Yeji in the Bono East Region.
It was reported that the couple had attended the funeral of the late Mamponghene, Daasebre Nana Osei II, together with some friends.
There, GH Kobby is said to have withdrawn a pump-action shotgun, which he is said to own. The gun went off and hit Yaa Baby in the arm. She was taken to St Mathias Hospital, but unfortunately she did not make it through the injuries.
The Yeji Police arrested GH Kobby and is currently in custody, whilst investigations are ongoing.

A representative of the family of Kobby during the visit lamented the tragic loss and stated that they had just been fully briefed about the incident.
The spokesperson said their mission here is to comfort the family and make them know that we feel their pain too. “We, too, came to check things out and to reconcile.”
The visit was also done under the customary Ghanaian norms where families who have had conflicts or tragedy usually come together under the elders to reduce tempers and start negotiations.
The peaceful aspect of the meeting was lauded by many Ghanaians on social media, with some adding that in a different world, this gathering could have been a wedding and not a mourning session.
One user wrote, “This was supposed to be a marriage ceremony… so sad.”
Some were optimistic that justice would prevail; others were not so sure that the legal machinery would handle the case appropriately. Nevertheless, the display of maturity and composure by both sets of parents has gained a lot of respect.
