The brutal st@bbing of a young girl studying at the Southern Delta University in Ozoro by her former boyfriend after missing the target of r@ping her has elicited a shock from the people who heard about the heart-wrenching news.
Eyewitnesses and frightening videos spread on social media state that the attack happened in one of the classrooms of the university.
The former boyfriend is said to have seduced the young woman to enter the vacant lecture room where he tried to rape her. When she grappled back and fought him, he took to st@bbing her repeatedly in anger.
The videos, which have now become viral, depict the consequences of the attack, namely the blood on the floor of the classroom and the young woman in the bandage being carried to the hospital.
The other video shows the arrest of the suspect by the Nigerian police officers with a small crowd of people around the suspect in question.
Later on, the survivor is observed being medically checked on where she is covered with bandages all over her body and face. Her status is now said to have stabilized, but the emotional and physical trauma that she experienced is still severe.

The social media users and student groups all over Nigeria have spoken against the atrocious deed, and call to justice. There was a lot of concern over the increasing scope of violent crimes against women on campuses.
“It is outrageous and intolerable. Nobody should endure this kind of pain,” said one Twitter user. We should have tighter security and more severe punishment for men who rape women.
The Delta State Police Command confirmed the arrest of the suspect and said investigations are going on. The government has assured the citizenry that law will take its course against the offender.
In the meantime, a number of student organizations and other women rights organizations are demanding more awareness regarding gender based violence and better campus safety all over the country.
The victim has been given her privacy by withholding her name, however, students of Southern Delta University have vowed to help her recover and seek more protection of other students.
