Seven years following the unfortunate death of Ghanaian dancehall superstar Ebony Reigns, her legacy thrives not only in song but also in the dance and in the hearts of those she loved.
The mother of Ebony and her sister were captured in a heartwarming video in which they were seen dancing to one of the songs recorded by the singer.
Ebony fans across the country were smiling and weeping. It was taken when we visited the gravesite of Ebony on the 7th-year anniversery.
In a video, published by a fan page to preserve the memory of Ebony on June 24, her younger sister emerges out of the door with confidence to dance to the melody of the song Don Dada Remix by Pauli B featuring Ebony.
Soon the contagious vitality drew their mother into the scene, and their resulting spontaneous celebration, embrace, and celebration was a gorgeous thing to behold.
Emotional reactions of social media users were rapid as they lauded the family on their decision to celebrate the event instead of mourning.

“This video still nearly gave me tears, and it was already 7 years ago. Ebony will always be a queen,” according to one commenter.
Some other added, “She has such a strong family. It is so pretty to commemorate her in this way.”
The dance of Ebony’s sister to the mum was very touching to many. Her name is Beatrice Oppong Martin who has publicly lamented the death of her daughter over the years and actually turned out to be a silent source of strength to the family.
The spirited moves by Ebony’s sister evoked flashbacks of the late star who was confident on stage.
Ebony (born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng) was killed in a road accident on February 8, 2018, aged 20, at the point of her music career transcending to new heights. She was buried in the Osu Cemetery, and her family visits the place every year in tribute.
Her father, Nana Opoku Kwarteng, last year headed a wreath-laying ceremony and reminisced about his daughter. This year, all the attention was paid to the theme of joy and dance itself as the key to healing, love, and celebration of Ebony’s colorful legacy.
Music to memory, Ebony Reigns still reigns in the hearts of the Ghanaians.
