The former bank executive’s girlfriend, Deborah Seyram Adablah, has shifted from public romance fame to 45-day incarceration.
The court convicted Adablah of contempt of court on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, because she released videos which criticized the judges who were overseeing her civil litigation.
The May 5 bench warrant for Deborah Seyram Adablah’s arrest triggered her emotional courtroom appearance, which resulted in a jail term for forty-five days.
During the courtroom proceedings Deborah showed visible distress as she tried to accept the court’s decision.
“This is not a life sentence, so I don’t expect anyone to laugh about it. It’s my life I’m trying to enjoy.“
While shaking with fear, she told them, “I’ll take whatever comes my way so I can chest it.”

Deborah’s court battles started in 2023 after she filed an explosive lawsuit against Ernest Nimako, who was both her workplace superior and her rumoured romantic partner.
Deborah said Nimako guaranteed her a car and a three-year housing contract together with monthly payments of GH¢3,000 and an eventual marriage following his divorce from his wife.
However, things turned sour. The former banker revoked the ownership of her car while ending all financial support for her home, leading to an acrimonious legal dispute.
Deborah’s civil case against Ernest Nimako transitioned to criminal charges when she publicly criticized the judiciary through social media.
Since then, the video has gone viral on social media platforms while people discuss whether her penalty fits the crime or exceeds reasonable limits.
Currently Deborah Seyram Adablah serves a 45-day prison sentence as her online lifestyle stands in sharp contrast with her present incarceration.
