Arne Slot believes his team is good enough to compete
Newly appointed Liverpool manager Arne Slot believes the team is good enough to complete their ambition even without transfers. The Reds has been criticized for their lack of desire to add new players to the current squad inherited by Arne Slot.
The just ended season saw the exit of Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara and former manager Jurgen Klopp. With the Reds starting a new chapter with Arne Slot, it was expected that the Reds will be busy on the market as many believed that the Reds need to sign players to cover vital positions like the defensive midfield and the left back position.
Speaking to the media ahead of the commencement of their pre season encounter with Real Betis, the Reds manager claimed he isn’t really worried about the lack of signings on the part of the Reds.
“The first aim is to work with these players. The disadvantage is that many of them aren’t here yet. The positive is that it gives us time to take a good look at the youngsters. Of course, Richard and I are trying to improve the squad where possible.” Said Arne Slot.
Slot speaking on the facilities at Pittsburgh, said: “The facilities are also great over here but the temperature is a bit different to Liverpool!”
Slot confirms that Diogo Jota will join up with Liverpool’s touring party later today, and that both Ibrahima Konate and Ryan Gravenberch should arrive at a later stage of the U.S. tour.
Arne Slot also said that Andy Robertson won’t feature in any of Liverpool’s three matches on the U.S. tour as he’s still recovering from the injury that he incurred during Euro 2024.
Arne Slot says this team is good enough to complete their ambitions even without transfers. But he does say it would be a surprise if there are no additions in the next month.
