Social media in Ghana has been thrown into mourning after the devastating news of the death of the famous Tik Tok child star, Akua Antwiwaa.
According to reports, the two-year-old viral sensation, who wowed her audiences with her heartwarming videos and bubbly personality, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025, following a brief illness.
It was confirmed by her mother, who was in charge of her TikTok account, in an emotional post made on Wednesday, June 25. She accompanied a moving video of Akua with the statement, “I am sorry to inform you the sudden death😰😰😰 of my beautiful daughter ANTWIWAA😭😭😭MAY YOU REST IN PERFECT PEACE😭😭😰😰😰😰😰.“
Whereas the exact reason why she died is yet unknown, most of her fans feel she had been ill during the days before her early demise.
Akua Antwiwaa was a TikTok star in 2024, and she won the hearts of thousands of viewers with her cute facial expressions, humorous scenes, and self-assured dancing.
Through videos of her smiling broadly as she enjoys a meal in a hair salon to beaming when she poses in front of the camera, she gained popularity on Ghanaian TikTok, where she has more than 200,000 followers.

“Since I heard the news, I have not slept.” One user said, “I thought it was a joke,” he added. And another, added, “She was sent to this world to make us smile, and she did. Sleep, my child angel.”
