Just days after her fatal de@th, new information has surfaced online regarding the stormy relationship between late Ghanaian TikTok star Yaa Baby and her boyfriend, GH Kobby.
Yaa Baby (born Philipa Frimpong) was sh0t dead (allegedly accidentally) by GH Kobby on a recreational visit to Yeji in the Bono East Region on June 10, 2025. However, a close friend claims that the two had broken up months before the incident.
In an emotional interview with Smart Ghana TV, a friend by the same name, Yaa, alleged that the deceased TikToker was not happy in the relationship because GH Kobby was unfaithful and had an erratic behavior.
She claimed that Kobby was a womaniser and was always going out with other ladies.
“I told her that if she was not happy then she should leave and she finally broke up with him,” the friend disclosed.
The two, however, briefly rekindled their relationship in May following the arrest of Yaa Baby together with her roommate Hajia over possession of illicit substances.
The arresting officers are said to have demanded a lot of money to be paid before they could be released.

The friend said that after GH Kobby had paid the money, he also walked away with Yaa Baby after obtaining her release. She said, “He bailed her out and she went with him and never came back to her apartment.
The moving video and interview have caused a furor on the internet. Numerous Ghanaians have commented, some stating that there needs to be more discussions about toxic relationships, mental health, and the stress put on young influencers.
One of the users posted, “Women nowadays prefer money and comfort to character and values.” Another one added, “This girl appears to be the only honest one with all the interviews.”
The mom of Yaa Baby also broke her silence this week, telling how heart-wrenching it was to get a phone call from her daughter 30 minutes before she was killed.
With the police still investigating the case, many people are asking themselves how the life of such a young and vibrant individual could end in such a sad and preventable manner.
