In a recent teaser for his upcoming movie, Kwadwo Lil Win Nkansah demonstrated scenes of hand-to-hand combat about Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traore. With military apparel on, Lil Win performed action sequences meant to show off Traore’s military background.
Even so, many Ghanaians felt the scene was unsuitable for a serious film, as it was too humorous.
Some people argue that the film, though telling the tale of a key African leader, falls into comedy which lessens the impression of Traore’s achievements. A few also suggested that to reach a bigger audience, Lil Win should use English or even pidgin English.
People on social media laughed at the portrayal and asked for a more authentic and bold display of the Burkinabe leader. A lot of people warned that the chosen method might make it difficult for the film to succeed and share Traore’s Pan-African ideas.

People are really looking forward to the biopic, but many insist that Lil Win should rethink his approach to do Captain Ibrahim Traore’s story justice.
