Marvel Studios Will Officially Return To Comic-Con Next Month

Before the pandemic, three years ago, Kevin Feige appeared on stage at San Diego Comic-Con to reveal Marvel Studios’ Phase Four project lineup, which was scheduled to debut the following summer with the release of Black Widow.

Sadly, the COVID-19 pandemic caused a delay of more than a year in our return to the MCU.

But with Phase Four well under way, it’s time to take a peek at the studio’s next slate of motion pictures and television programs.

Marvel will be present at San Diego Comic-Con, according to Feige’s official announcement.

Officially, Marvel Studios.

Feige confirmed the news during a recent press conference for Thor: Love and Thunder (via Heroic Hollywood). Needless to say, the studio couldn’t have picked a better year to return to Hall H. After going virtual in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, Comic-Con will officially revert to an in-person even next month for the first time since 2019. And it sounds like fans won’t be disappointed by what Marvel has in store for its own panel.

“We’ll be at Comic-Con next month, which we’re excited about,” said Feige. “First time since we were on stage there three years ago talking about this movie and many others. And now, I think, almost, not everything, but almost everything we discussed three years ago, that was released so we are excited to go and talk about the future.”

It’s going to be hard for Marvel to top its last Hall H appearance. By the time the studio wrapped up its 2019 presentation, the stage was overflowing with Phase Four cast and crew members. Mahershala Ali was also announced as the star of an upcoming Blade reboot slated for Phase Five. But surprisingly, Marvel didn’t stop there. Just one month later, Marvel announced even more projects at Disney’s D23 Expo, including Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk.

Right now, it’s anyone’s guess as to what Marvel has planned for this year’s event. There are currently four more Phase Four films on the immediate horizon: Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and The Marvels. Presumably, the studio will screen new footage from those movies with help from a few special guests. New announcements regarding upcoming Disney+ shows like Secret Invasion and Ironheart are safe bets as well. But even more exciting is the prospect of more Phase Five reveals, including new details about the studio’s highly-anticipated Fantastic Four reboot.

San Diego Comic-Con will be held from July 20-24.
