Colbert Michael Hamels, widely known as Cole Hamels is an American former baseball pitcher who was born on Dember 27, 1983. He was actively involved in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies from 2006 to the year 2015, he moved on to the Texas Rangers from 20215 to 2018, and from 2018 to 2019 he then joined Chicago Clubs, and Atlanta Braves in 2020.
Many Scouts were very interested in signing him though he was still in high school primarily because his fastball was clocked as high as 94 miles per hour (151 km/h), and his secondary offerings were considered advanced.

However, some teams lost interest when Hamels broke his left humerus during his sophomore year. Nonetheless, Hamels was drafted in the first round of the 2002 Major League Baseball draft by the Philadelphia Phillies with the 17th overall selection.
Cole Hamels is originally from San Diego, California, he started his education at Rancho Bernardo High School where he excelled in both athletics and academically. The Phillies managed to get him out of High School in the first round of the 2002 MBL Draft, he was then allowed to play in the Phillies’ minor league system where many issues popped up including several injuries, with one of them sustained from a bar fight.
He became the top pitcher in the Phillies’ minor league system in the year 2006 when he reached the Triple-A level.
2006 is when he made his official league for the Phillies in the Major League after being a very long-term member of the team’s starting rotation in his rookie season. Cole Hamels finally won the Top League Pitcher award in the 2007 season of Major League Baseball.
Cole then signed a three-year deal with the Phillies but suddenly his statistics started declining over the next two seasons. He went through a lot of struggles in the 2009 campaign, but he was able to come back strong in 2010 though his numbers weren’t up to what he got in 2008.
Over the next few seasons, Hamels was joined by fellow All-Star pitchers Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, and Roy Oswalt. Hamels flourished alongside them, putting up some of his top career seasons, before suffering from poor run support in 2013. With the decline of his aging teammates, the team missed the postseason for the next few years, but he remained one of the Phillies’ consistent stars. Hamels was traded to the Texas Rangers in 2015, and he sparked their run to the AL West title that season. Hamels spent parts of four seasons with the Rangers, including an All-Star season in 2016, before being traded to the Cubs in 2018. In 2020, he was shut down for the season after pitching only 3+1⁄3 innings.
